Meet Chef Scott

Growing up on the vibrant west side of Maui, Hawaii, Chef Scott seamlessly blended his love for surfing with an insatiable passion for food. Under the mentorship of some of Hawaii's most esteemed chefs, he honed his culinary skills, spending nearly a decade at iconic establishments such as Lahaina Grill, Pacific’o, and the Ritz Carlton Kapalua. In 1996, seeking new horizons, Chef Scott brought his culinary expertise to the sun-soaked shores of the Florida Keys. After cooking at a number of restaurants around Key West, Chef Scott took the reins at the legendary Blue Heaven restaurant, where he managed the bustling venue for nearly a decade. In 2011, Chef Scott realized his dream by opening Kaya Island Eats, a culinary gem that artfully combines South Pacific and Asian flavors with local Caribbean and Latin cuisine. This unique fusion quickly turned Kaya into a beloved hotspot for locals and discerning visitors alike, all in search of tropical, one-of-a-kind dishes. In 2021, Kaya moved to the heart of Key West, nestled on iconic Duval Street. With a commitment to delivering gourmet food in a laid-back, island atmosphere, Chef Scott and his dedicated team continue to spread good vibes and exceptional cuisine. “Serving guests with passion and purpose is my lifelong vocation, and I’m honored to have you join us at Kaya Island Eats at The Key West EmPOURium. Peace, love, and aloha.” - Chef Scott

This place is like having a gourmet island picnic. Fusion of Asian, Polynesian, and Caribbean flavors. Vegetarian options and plenty of island-themed drinks. Ask to sit in the back, live piano bar music!
